GO USF BULLS!
Anyone who has been here for any length of time knows that I am a HUGE USF Bulls fan.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of being in attendance to watch our Bulls take on and defeat Tennessee-Martin 56 to 7 at Raymond James stadium! Tonight I hosted a watch party at my neighborhood buffalo wing shop to watch a heart pounding performance by our boys in green and gold. It was definetely a good game and in the end, in over time our Bulls pulled off a victory 31 to 24 over the Knights of UCF, ending the series against UCF with another exciting win! Coach Leavitt has again produced a fine team and I am looking forward to what this year has in store!
Next year we start a 3 year series against the University of Miami which should be exciting.
GO BULLS!

It looks like it’s going to be another great season. USF has done some good recruiting during the off season. Be looking forward to future posts about season outlooks, recruits and more in the future.
GO BULLS!
South Florida Commitments
I was just looking over the 2008 Commitment List for USF on Rivals.com and I have to say I’m somewhat impressed with this years recruiting class.
Lets hope they’re up to the challenge of keeping the USF tradition of excellence and alive in well.
Well at least the ones who aren’t red-shirted next season.
Thats right ladies and gentlemen!
It’s official…our University of South Florida Bulls are headed to El Paso, Texas to play in the:
Go Bulls!
unBULLlievable…
So I’m confident our guys can pull of a big ‘W’ tomorrow.
I’ll be enjoying the game from the south end zone of Raymond James Stadium to watch our Bulls take on the Bearcats of Cincinnati.
GO BULLS!
I have no idea why, but Bleed it Out by Linkin Park has become like my anthem as of late. Is it sad that I take a song, dissect it to try to determine why exactly it resonates with me in the way that it does. Only, I have absolutely no idea why this song resonates with me the way that it does. Perhaps I just enjoy the beat, every time it comes on I just start stomping my feet…even when I’m driving (which surprisingly is quite dangerous if you’re not careful). Anyway, enjoy yourself some Bleed it out (the lyrics are included, sing-a-long if you’d like):

Man, it never ceases to amaze me at how fast time goes by as you get older. I distinctly remember what I was doing New Years Day of this year, and here we are almost at New Years Day of 2008. WHERE THE HECK HAS 2007 GONE!? It’s like every day I wake up and a month has gone by. I’m getting old…quick. :-/
——————————————-
Well, the time has come for Kenny and I to part ways from Lakeland. We must have our apartment vacated by November 30th. I’ll be moving back to my beloved (not) St. Petersburg, with mom and dad and Kenny, well I’m not sure what he’s doing…I hope he gets a plan soon.
While we’re on the subject, let me clear the air. I am not moving back in with my parents because I am a freeloader. I will have to pull my fair share of weight around the house, I will more than likely still do my grocery shopping, I am definitely transferring my cable over there so I’ll still have “bills.” I just wont have “rent” per say, and I certainly will save on gas on my car as well as ware and tear. Basically what I drive ONE WAY now, will be my round trip when I move back in with them.
Plus, lets face it…as much as they don’t like to hear it, and I hate to admit it, they’re getting older, we’ve all got our fair share of health issues, so basically we need to be our own support net. With out a doubt I need to be closer to their home in the event (heaven forbid) something happens that I need to be there immediately rather than an hour from when I get the call.
It just makes sense.
So all your haters out there stop going on about me being a freeloader, as there will be little if any freeloading. For the love of pete, I’ll be sleeping in the living room (for the time being)…lol. (That was suppose to help my case, I guess it just makes me look like more of a freeloader…oh well.)

I haven’t posted anything about the Bulls lately. We recently lost (suck) to Rutgers last Thursday. A lot of people are calling it a conspiracy, they say the NCAA didn’t want us in the National Championship. All I have to say to that is Shut the heck up. lol
How come, whenever things don’t go our way we look for someone else to blame? The bottom line is we play ‘B’ game football. We always play ‘B’ game football, it just so happens we haven’t really played any teams this year that have brought on an ‘A’ game competition. The truth of the matter is, had we played a team that had brought an ‘A’ game prior to Rutgers, then we would have lost a long time ago.
I’ll admit, I’m an avid Bulls Athletic fan, and sure I’m pissed that we lost, and sure like any good fan perhaps I think the officials made some lousy calls. BUT, as a SMART fan I realize that the Bulls have benefited from lousy calls in the past, just as Rutgers did Thursday night. I also realize that we are having an incredible season, and have a team young enough to have a couple more incredible seasons. We also have a coach that kicks some major you know what.
GET OVER IT. We loss, lets drive on. We stomped UCF (a game which I was lucky enough to be at), now we have to focus our energy and efforts on UConn, Cincy, Syracuse, Pitt and Louisville. If you’re a true fan, you’ll still be cheering your Bulls on. I’ll be cheering them on at Ray Jay for the Cincy and Louisville games, and as a TRUE fan you realize that we’ve still got a ways to go, and you are certain we’re going to do some incredible things during the remainder of the season.
While I’m talking about USF Athletics, let me throw some other stats out there that you may not know about. Currently, the Bulls Ladies Volleyball team is 13 - 6 overall and 5 - 3 in the conference. Marcela Gurgel leads the team in over all points earned and let me tell you she is a force to be reckoned with. The team as a whole is looking good this season.
Our basketball teams are starting to gear up for what looks to be two incredible seasons. Only time will tell.
GO BULLS!
P.S. While it may seem that way, I am not a USF student…not yet anyway.

So Jill & Bob had Annsley on the 11th of this month. I got to finally see her up close an in real life on Thursday. I’m not sure way but I don’t get all oogly woogly over babies. Quite frankly they scare the tar out of me, it seems as if every time I hold one they pee on me, or throw up, or do all types of other baby things.
Plus the idea of being responsible for another human being scares me even more than actually the baby itself.
What happens if I get distracted and drop them? I mean they aren’t like cats they don’t land on their feet.
At any rate Annsley is a cute kid, if she’s grows up to be like the women on her mother’s side (at least the ones I’ve seen) her daddy is gonna have a fun time ahead of him, I’m sure he’ll be volunteering to go practice at the gun range with me within the next few years.
——————————————-
So Thursday, prior to the USF defeat, I went over to help Bob with his yard.
I know that prior to Annsley he’d been busy as all get out, and I had a feeling things hadn’t got any better with the little bundle of joy, so I figured I’d help him and Jill out in a way that is tangible, but doesn’t cost me a fortune (because, as I’d love to help with food or diapers or whatever else, I can barely feed myself most weeks :-/). Needless to say it was some quality bonding time, plus now that’s one less thing Bob has to worry about in the midst of being a leader for an organization that probably demands way more than they should out of him, being a husband, a dad, a student who’s working diligently to finish up his undergraduate work, and a friend to what I would estimate to be well over 3 to 5 hundred people.
In the middle of our yard work adventure, someone brought him and Jill some food over.
Apparently people do this when you have a kid, which got me to thinking I should go find a women that is willing to marry and let me impregnate so that I can get some food brought over, unfortunately while that plan sounds foolproof, it’s not at all.
Anyway, I thought it was really nice of people to do that, as I thought it was really nice for me to come help out with his yard. I also got to thinking about why it is we wait for something monumental to happen before we offer to give of ourselves, be it time, money, or something else? I mean I’m as guilty as anyone else, even though I try to give as much of myself as often as possible, the truth is, if it’s an inconvenience I will usually only do it if I know the person has had something major (life changing) recently take place in their life. Now, that wasn’t the case this time, Bob and Jill are REALLY good friends of mine, and it was my pleasure to help them in a way that I could actually help them and make a difference at the same time. Plus it was an excuse to see the baby without being that annoying person whose like “When can I see the baby huh? WHEN WHEN WHEN…ME ME ME.” The truth of the matter is, there are certain people in my life, my family, Bob/Jill, Mike/Emily, Beth, Catie, and a few others who I’d drop what I was doing in a heartbeat and do whatever needed to be done to help them out. But everyone else…shoot, either have a kid, have someone die, get married, or have a car accident and then you can have my help.
It’s quite selfish actually, and oh my goodness how hypocritical of myself is it. lol
It just proves have incredible flawed we (myself definitely included) are.
In a few weeks, the meals being brought over will cease for Bob and Jill, people willing to go out of their way to do whatever the two of them may need done will stop, and life will return to normal.
And that…well that’s just plain bull shit.
Truthfully, the experience Thursday was an eye opener for me. If I’m going to preach continually about community this, and community that, yet I’m only going to assist members of my community when it’s convenient or circumstances deem it necessary, then I’m pretty much the biggest waste of space on this planet.
If it means bringing someone dinner, or treating them to dinner then I’m gonna do it. If it means mowing their yard so they can enjoy quality time with their family then so be it.
If it means helping someone with a project at work, because they’re simply over loaded then well…I guess I’m the newest employee of their organization.
The bottom line is simple actually.
Stop talking, and start doing. None of this bull crap about, “Well I’ve got this to do, and if I don’t do this then this will happen and that, well that just won’t be good.”
SHUT UP.
You’re not any more important than anyone else, and I’m positive that if it came down to it you’d desire to have the same help given to you no matter what the circumstance.
It’s amazing what trudging through several large piles of dog crap, having your socks died green cause your buddy has the prettiest looking grass in all of Riverview, and sweating your balls off can do to make you think about how pathetic you actually are in the grand scheme of things.
——————————————-
Well that’s all I’ve got for now. My fantasy teams are still doing well, or actually just one of them is, the other sucks.
I’m ranked # 1 in one league, and # 8 in the other. My Fantasy Hockey team is # 2 though which is cool, and fantasy basketball season is just around the corner.
I won my offices football pool this week, and I don’t even watch the NFL. lol Just goes to show you that you CAN trust what Vegas is saying about the games.
Carpe Diem,
Will

Can we get a big shout out for our USF BULLS!?!?!
I haven’t given them much love on here lately, but our boys are 5 and ZERO, and ranked 5th in the nation. They take on the Golden Knights of UCF this saturday at 12 pm in front of yet again another SOLD OUT crowd at Raymond James stadium.
If you were not lucky enough to get tickets you can watch the game on ESPN U.
I, however am lucky enough to be able to go to the next 3 home games, which are all looking to be sell outs.
Go Bulls!
